Beyond The Drive (sole trader, ABN 35 790 205 078; "we", "us") runs DEFENDER Experience Days in the Yarra Valley, Victoria. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This page explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
Independence: Beyond The Drive is an independent business. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover Limited, JLR or Land Rover, and we do not collect information on their behalf or share what we collect with them. Land Rover and DEFENDER are trademarks of their respective owners.
What we collect
- When you book or buy: your name, email, phone number and delivery address (for shop items), plus the order details you give us at checkout. If you book for a group, we may ask for your guests' names and details of the vehicle you are bringing so we can run the day safely.
- When you email us: your email address and whatever you write, including if you register interest in a new region or experience.
- On the day: we take photos and drone film of the day and share them with guests. These can show you and your vehicle.
- On this website: your browser keeps a small anonymous visitor session so your cart works. If you choose "Accept all" or turn on Analytics, Wix Analytics also records visits and the pages viewed. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. See Cookie information.
- Newsletter: if you subscribe, your email address, optional first name and your agreement to receive emails.
Why we collect it
To take and deliver your booking or order, run the day safely, send your voucher, photos and film, answer your questions, meet legal and tax obligations, and improve the experience. Personal information collected during registration or participation is used for event administration and safety. We do not sell your information and we do not share it with third parties without your consent, other than the service providers listed below and where the law requires it.
Newsletter
You are only added to our email list if you ask to be, by ticking the box in our signup form. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be removed. Subscriber details are held in our Wix account.
Cookies and analytics
Essential storage keeps the cart, booking and your cookie choice working. Analytics and marketing are off until you agree, using the notice on first visit or "Cookie settings" in the footer, and you can withdraw at any time. Details of what is stored are on our Cookie information page.
Photos and footage
Images from our days may appear on our website, social media and marketing materials. If you would rather not appear, tell our staff on arrival or email us and we will leave you out of anything we publish and remove you from anything already posted. Parents and guardians decide for children under 15.
Experience DEFENDER community group
Joining our Experience DEFENDER WhatsApp group is optional. WhatsApp is run by Meta, and other members may be able to see your name and phone number, depending on your WhatsApp settings. You can leave the group at any time.
Payments
Payments are taken on Wix's secure hosted checkout through its payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
Who we share it with
We use trusted providers to run the business: Wix (website, store, checkout and order emails), its payment providers, and Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when a page loads its typeface (this happens before you make a cookie choice). Some providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information in line with the Privacy Principles. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Keeping it safe
This site is served over HTTPS and your checkout runs on Wix's secured platform. We limit who can access order details and keep them only as long as we need them for business, tax and legal reasons. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
Marketing
We only send marketing emails if you have agreed, and every message includes a way to unsubscribe, in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it where we are allowed to, by emailing office@beyondthedrive.com.au. If you are not happy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
